Reviews and Ratings
The hotel location is great, just a few minutes walk to the center of Chester, next to the racecourse. The rooms were fine until a morning bathroom surprise, but the amenities were all together on one floor. The service was exceptional, with friendly staff accommodating requests and fixing booking issues. Dining was excellent, though brown bread and toast could be added. The hotel is good value for visits to City center attractions.
The hotel was comfortable and clean, but unfortunately facing the main road, making it quite noisy. I downsized the room for the first night to a less superior one, which was not as comfortable. However, overall, the hotel was excellent for the money.
My three-day stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms, although to a good standard with twin beds, shower room, tea/coffee facilities, free WiFi, and a TV, were lacking storage space, which made my stay uncomfortable at times. The noise from the corridor, upstairs, and next door was quite bothersome. On the bright side, the service was friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was excellent. The location, only a leisurely 5-minute walk from the town center and overlooking the racecourse, was superb. However, the dining experience left much to be desired with limited options and cold food.
My stay at the hotel had its good and bad points. The room overlooked the race course, which was fantastic, but being on the ground floor next to the main road made it very noisy even with the window open. The stained sofa bed was not appealing. The service was top-notch and highly recommended The White Horse pub within the Racecourse. The location was convenient, close to all major tourist spots in Chester, just a short walk to the city centre. The dining experience offered plenty of choices and a 10-minute walk to the city center.
The hotel had extremely clean and well-presented rooms that were spacious and modern. Despite being on the main road, I wasn't disturbed by traffic noise. The service was exceptional, with a lovely touch of complimentary wine left in our room and always pleasant and helpful staff. The location was great for exploring the city, although some litter from local events was a downside. The dining experience was adequate but somewhat limited. Overall, a good experience with some minor drawbacks.
